Turks & Caicos: Undiscovered for Most Brits Purchasing Overseas Property

Turks & Caicos Islands are a tiny dot on any map, a charming small archipelago of 40 small islands and cays with fabulous beaches, all surrounding a shallow interior bank. Deep ocean on all sides provide fabulous diving, establishes serene isolation and helps generate fresh warm breezes. The weather is usually sunny and relatively dry. This spectacular island group is found in the north Atlantic ocean, southeast of the Bahamas Islands, only 494 nautical miles from Miami. The total population is about 36,000, of whom approximately 30,000 live on Providenciales, the most developed island within the country.

Sapodilla Bay, Providenciales

The Turks & Caicos Islands, known locally as TCI, has a special niche for everyone, including modern cosmopolitan resorts and isolated bird watching in camping tents. TCI offers truly one of the most pristine and unspoiled natural environments in the Caribbean. It is a delightfully varied country, as each island has its own personality and physical environment. There are two island groups – the Turks Islands and the Caicos Islands – and these two distinct island groups are separated by the Turks Passage. The inhabited islands are Grand Turk, Salt Cay, South Caicos, Ambergris Cay, Providenciales, Pine Cay, Parrot Cay, North Caicos and Middle Caicos. Flights and boats ply between all the islands every day.

Grand Turk Island

Providenciales is the main port of entry for most visitors from abroad, and home to the mina international flight terminal. Carriers offer direct flights from Miami, New York, Boston, Dallas, Charlotte, Washington, Philedelphia, Atlanta, Toronto, London UK. It is here you will find major stores, financial and legal services, larger resorts and condo developments. Life on all islands moves in and out of “Provo” for business, errands, supplies but peace and tranquility are found best on the less developed islands…

Purchasing a property in Turks & Caicos Islands is a great investment opportunity, with the following financial advantages:
•     No income tax
•     No taxes on investment income or capital gains
•     No withholding taxes on dividends, interest, management fees and royalties paid
•     No taxes on corporate profit
•     No probate fees
•     No estate or succession duties
•     Well established confidentiality laws
•     Professional advisors and support services readily available
•     Excellent infrastructure and telecommunications network
•     Official language is English
•     Official currency is the U.S. dollar
