Castles and Cruises - Timeshare for people who DO! Rather than just GO...
Timeshare for the 21st Century
When someone mentions they are off on holiday to their timeshare, I’m sure your first thought would not be to imagine a houseboat in Alsace or a renovated Château with its own chapel – but think again!
The sumptuous resort development of upscale apartments based around a swimming pool complex with restaurants is still very much a part of the timeshare experience. But as more adventurous ‘experience holidays’ have become ever popular, so the shared ownership industry has been ideally placed to offer easy access to the likes of ‘boats and battlements’, amongst a host of surprising others.
These new, innovative (and otherwise unaffordable) holidays are something European timeshare provider, Hapimag AG, has fully embraced. Holiday-makers increasingly want to tell people about something they have done, rather than somewhere they have been, with a great desire to share their experiences on social media…
Challenging the traditional idea of timeshare in shared ownership, Hapimag offers its members immersive, indulgent and adventurous holidays as in these examples currently offered on its website.
Captain your own boat
Imagine drifting idyllically through the Alsatian countryside in your very own houseboat. Combining transport and accomodation in one you can truly set your own tempo. Stop as and when you want to explore the countryside and villages of Alsace-Lorraine and gather fresh fruit, cheese and wines to enjoy on your own sun deck.
Golf, whisky and shopping
Experience the ultimate in traditional Scottish elegance in Hapimags stylish Edinburgh base. Stay in your own suite in the heart of the city and witness first-class events such as Edinburgh Miltary Tattoo. Stroll along the shopping mile of Princes Street and taste whisky in the shadow of the world famous Castle.
Cross-country skiing in the forests of Finland
With magical, snowy woods, romantic log cabins and glistening snow on frozen Lake Puruvesi you’ll feel like you have completely escaped in Hapimags winter resort in Southeast Finland. Ice-skate, hike or simply enjoy curling up in front of the fire with a great book and a view of the endless expanse of unspoilt nature.
Live like a Lord
Relax in your own château and explore the lavish and romantic park that surrounds Château de Chabenet. With a viewing tower, tennis court, outdoor pool and wellness area you will want for nothing, but if you choose to leave the estate, a wine tour through the wine cellar of the region is a must along with a visit to the Benedictine monastery of Fontgombault.
Truffling in Tuscany
Search for delights in the forests around ‘Pentolina’ under the guidance of charismatic resort manager Sergio. This mediaeval estate appears as a fairytale, carefully renovated to offer modern comforts in a rustic and authentic setting. On warm summer evenings, the resort’s own restaurant serves crispy crostini and exquisite wild boar and truffle dishes.
And if you want the traditional beach holiday with heat...
Hapimag Resort Bodrum in southern Turkey is a holiday resort in a league of its own. One village, three beaches, five pools, twelve restaurants and a vast array of games and sports for the old and the young, including Mini and Maxi Club and its own Watersport station. The resort is situated in an evergreen pine grove, and the beach and turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea are right on the doorstep.
With a new, passionate CEO at the helm, Hapimag continues to refine its product, improve its services and renew its commitment to its shareholders. With a transparent business model and an empowering, collaborative approach with its members, this is truly timeshare for the 21st Century.
Hapimag - a brief history
Pioneers of the point-based holiday access system, Hapimag was founded in Zug, Switzerland in 1963. Introducing the unique idea of a co-operative model of shareholders, this incredibly popular and thriving venture now boasts 130,000 shareholders and members with a choice of over 5,000 holiday apartments in 60 resorts across Europe, USA, Turkey and Morocco.
Continual innovation and a desire to provide for its shareholders changing demands is at the heart of Hapimags success. While, in the early days, Hapimag bought only individual apartments with established facilities, it was soon procuring entire buildings. New shareholders and members meant greater demand for accommodation, which had to be met with increases in resort capacity and in the 1970’s Hapimag started to create and build its own holiday resorts.
Sustainability, high standards and regional architecture were all given high priority and the portfolio increased to include listed buildings both in resorts and cities. The jewel in Hapimag’s crown came in 1994 with the Sea Garden Hotel & Resort in Bodrum on the Turkish Aegean Sea. The largest Hapimag resort with 351 holiday apartments, a five-star hotel with 285 rooms and countless shops, restaurants and leisure facilities was built across three picturesque sea bays.
Adapting to evolving demand Hapimag introduced the concept of ‘All worlds of experience’ under seven themes City & Culture, Family & Fun, Golf, Tradition, Watersport, Wellbeing & Relax and “And more”.
